The Angel Act
Summary:
Welcome one and all, to Fortuna Circus!
Congratulations! You have recently been hired as a performer at Fortuna Circus. Your job is to be a handler for the star attraction: that's right, the Angel Act!
Work hard to captivate the audience and do exactly as the ringmaster taught you, and maybe, just maybe, you'll get to become a permanent member of this esteemed troupe!
This game has 2 endings + 1 secret ending (Ending 3). We highly recommend you keep playing until you get the secret ending.
"The Angel Act" is a micro visual novel created for the 02A2 2024 Visual Novel Game Jam with strict asset limitations and word count. It was made using Ren'Py, roughly 1000 words long, and made over the span of a week.

Oh that was insane. I was not expecting that 3rd ending at all and I loved it. To create that twist in such a short game is really admirable, the character design as well as the vibe throughout the game were also really good. I had a good time with this experience and hopefully will get to see more of this in the future. Thanks for making this game!!!

You guys absolutely smashed this one! The background/ soundtrack and even how the dialogue box was a ticket was so neat! Really made the creepy circus energy evocative.
Also, the angel is so beautiful - love the biblical accurate eye representation! Although I feel awful for him, want to give him a big hug. The golden tears were stun also.
I went for the mean options in round 1 and I felt so guilty ;-; . The secret ending killed me but also brought me back to life, wow - what a reveal!

I played this with my sister and we both enjoyed it! I wasn't expecting to see a
hotpseudo-biblically accurate angel - but it was a pleasant surprise. The game was easy to navigate and finding the secret ending was gratifying. I am curious how the Angel ended up there - if you ever decide to expand on this story in the future. We would love to see ya'll explore more freak show concepts - especially if they were longer, but this one was perfectly bite-sized. BTW, my sister would like to see a hot clown the player can datepls. Haha! She's joking, but she's not. :)Anyway, gg and we're excited to see your next works!

This was chilling and hard to play. I cut some of the recording until I found the true ending (Route C). Really weird one.
Thanks for playing! We tend to favor darker stories so we decided to go with a twisted freak show concept. Hopefully the secret end made you feel the slightest bit betterš«

Wow, I loved how messed up that was. I loved how pretty the crying sprite was. The story is so unique and I did not expect that secret ending!

AHHHHHH. This was so good! The vibes are so wonderful. Creepy and ominous and heart-wrenching ahhhh... my heart was clenching for the poor angel...
I got the failure ending first, then had to force myself to get the perfect ending. Then I couldn't figure out how to get the secret ending, so I just kept replaying trying different combinations lkdajfasd I wasn't sure how I eventually got it in the end but I finally did. And I was even more heart-broken at the final reveal... š How cruel...
The combination of the wonderful GUI, creepy circus music, and beautiful but sad art made this feel really powerful and immersive. I enjoyed this a lot despite how painful it was... it also made me want to know so much more about the poor angel and the story behind everything...

Weāre glad you felt something for our little Angel. We couldāve written thousands of more words on his situation and the emotions the MC felt seeing someone in such a wretched state (especially the talk in the secret endā¦had us ripping our hair out trying to squeeze such an important convo into the word count). Still, weāre glad we managed to get some of the emotions across.
